If you are thinking of taking a break, for the upcoming Bank Holiday at the end of May then it’s worth considering taking a trip to the fantastic Norfolk Broads for the Weekend, or even longer if you can. The weather forecast is looking good for the Bank Holiday weekend which means there are some fantastic places to visit and sites to see. If you are planning a boating holiday on the broads, we recommend that you moor up at Horning, a beautiful village with plenty of options including Pubs, restaurants and craft shops to name but a few.
If it’s fishing you love then the broads has great lakes available for fishing, you can even venture a few miles out to the North Norfolk coast and try sea fishing.
If it’s adventure you are looking for, Bewilderwood adventure playground is a 5 minute walk from Horning Village, you will be surprised just how much there is to do on the broads and the surrounding villages.

Fancy a fishing trip on the Norfolk broads? Discover some of nature’s most precious surroundings, it’s time to go and pack your bags, dust down your rods and head over to Norfolk for a fishing holiday.
Situated on the Norfolk Broads are several opportunities for both river fishing and sea fishing.
The fishing season on the Norfolk Broads runs from 16th June to the 14th March.
Before you start grab an valid license from your local post office or from the environmental agency.
You will be in with a great chance of stocking your net with Pike, Rudd, Bream,Tench, Perch and Roach from the naks of the Norfolk Broads Rivers.
If you prefer Sea fishing, Cromer and overstrand are highly recommended and you can travel along the beautiful coastline of North Norfolk too. Hall Farm cottages, based in fantastic countryside between Horning and Ludham have a manmade lake available to all of its residents which is stocked it with nearly 1000 carp, crucian carp, rudd, roach, and a few tench. With access for disabled and within a few hundred meters of the holiday cottages.
There is also fishing available along the bank of the river Ant, which is a few metres away.

After a very busy Easter at Hall Farm Cottages, things are starting to build up yet again, with another bank holiday only a few weeks away. Deep in the heart of the norfolk broads there is plenty going on over this period. There is a fantastic adventure playground for both adults and children called Bewilderwood, situated between Wroxham and Horning this is a must visit venue, especially for the kids, there is nothing better than seeing the joy on the children’s faces while flying down a zip wire into the nearest sandpit.
You can wind down in Horning village after your day out, with plenty of refreshments on offer and fantastic river views.
